Our Roots

Abiramam Muslim Association (AMA) was established in 1975 in Chennai with the objective of supporting families from our native town, Abiramam, who had moved to the city. During the mid-seventies, many of our community members were engaged in small businesses. The association served as a platform for sharing knowledge, guidance, and resources that helped them sustain their livelihoods, educate their children, and build a better future.

  • Supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds
  • Building a culture of lifelong learning
  • Bridging the gap between aspirations and opportunities

About Our Town

Abiramam is a historic town located in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. The district is recognized as one of the aspirational (backward) districts in India, where access to opportunities has long been a challenge. This reality makes our mission even more meaningful.

The Birth of AMA ACADEMY

With education at the heart of progress, the Abiramam Muslim Association launched AMA ACADEMY to provide structured educational support activities for students from Abiramam and surrounding areas. Our vision is to uplift young learners, empower them with knowledge, and open doors to brighter opportunities.
